The Rest of the Bat Story
When Hailey got home from school the bat was gone. She was a little upset because she expected and wanted it to be there still. I told her that the animal control guy had to come and get it to test it for rabies and told her what he had said about if they bite you: "you would hardly even know it." Their teeth are so small that you would feel nothing more than a pin prick. In fact, if the bat is caught in the house they automatically test for rabies since at night in your sleep you wouldn't ever know if it bit you. In our case they tested for rabies since their were children involved. Thankfully the little guy tested negative.
A little side note for those interested, vampire bats bite painlessly as well. However, this was not a vampire bat, from what I read they are found in Mexico and South America.
